9 injured in Attack on Bail Plaintiff’s House in Sonargaon

At least nine members of a family, including a woman, were injured after attackers allegedly carried out an assault, looting and arson at a house in Sonargaon, Narayanganj.

The incident occurred around 10:30 pm on Thursday (March 5) in the Mahajampur Kazipara area of Jampur Union in Sonargaon upazila.

According to police and local sources, a group of attackers ambushed the house of Ali Azgar Mia. The victim’s family claims the attackers beat the residents and injured them with sharp weapons.

In the attack, nine members of the same family, including three women, were injured.

Family members alleged that the attackers also vandalised the house and looted cash and gold ornaments. At one stage, a section of the house was set on fire, damaging furniture and other belongings.

After receiving information, members of the Taltala Police Outpost rushed to the scene and brought the situation under control.

Locals said the affected family has been living in fear since the incident.

Sonargaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Mohibullah said police responded quickly after receiving the report and brought the situation under control. He added that legal action would be taken against those involved.
