


The Upazila and Municipal units of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in Lohagara organized a discussion meeting and a prayer session on Saturday to mark the 45th death anniversary of former President Ziaur Rahman.
The event took place at 11:00 AM in the Lohagara Government Pilot High School auditorium. It was chaired by Upazila BNP Acting President Md. Hemayet Hossain and moderated by Municipal BNP Acting General Secretary Shamsul Haque Azad. Senior Supreme Court lawyer and political leader Dr. Fariduzzaman Farhad attended as the chief guest, while former Narail District BNP Organizing Secretary Shahriar Rizvi George was the keynote speaker.
In his speech, Dr. Farhad highlighted Ziaur Rahman's role in protecting Bangladesh's sovereignty and unity during national crises, noting that his patriotism continues to inspire the younger generation. He called on party activists to remain united to protect democratic values and public rights.
Following the discussion, a special prayer session (munajat) for the departed soul of Ziaur Rahman was led by District Ulama Dal President HM Tayebur Rahman. The organizers concluded the program by distributing food to underprivileged and helpless local families.
A large number of grassroots leaders from the BNP, Jubo Dal, and Chhatra Dal attended the memorial.
