


Special prayers and milad mahfils were held across all wards under the Basan Metropolitan Police Station in Gazipur on Saturday evening to mark the 45th martyrdom anniversary of the founder of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), former President Ziaur Rahman.
Following the Maghrib prayers, local BNP leaders, activists, and devotees gathered at various local mosques to seek eternal peace for the departed soul of the late president.
The prayer sessions were attended by senior local leaders, including former Gazipur Metropolitan BNP Joint Convener GS Suruj Ahmed, Basan Thana BNP President Md. Tanvir Siraj, and General Secretary Monirul Islam Monir.
Other key organizers present included AH Sirajul Haque, Metropolitan Krishak Dal Convener Md. Ataur Rahman, and Metropolitan Ulama Dal Member Secretary Hafez Md. Khokon Biswas. Presidents and general secretaries from wards 13, 14, 16, 17 and 18, alongside various pro-BNP lawyers and grassroots activists, also joined the programs.
