


The 45th martyrdom anniversary of former President and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) founder Ziaur Rahman was observed with various programs in Paikgachha on Saturday.
Organized jointly by the Paikgachha Upazila and Municipal units of the BNP, the day began with the hoisting of national, party, and black flags at the local party office. This was followed by a discussion meeting and a special prayer ceremony in the afternoon.
Chaired by Municipal BNP President Aslam Parvez and moderated by Upazila BNP Member Secretary SM Imdadul Haque, the discussion featured Upazila BNP Convener Dr. Md. Abdul Majid as the chief guest. Former Upazila BNP General Secretary S.M. Enamul Haque and District BNP leader Sheikh Imadul Islam attended as special guests.
Other key speakers and attendees included Municipal BNP General Secretary Kamal Ahmed Selim Newaz, Joint Conveners Tushar Kanti Mondal and Sardar Faruk Ahmed, alongside senior leaders Sheikh Benazir Ahmed Lal, Sheikh Ruhul Quddus, and local journalist Alauddin Raja. Leaders from the Jubo Dal, Ulama Party and other associate bodies also attended.
The program concluded with a doa mahfil conducted by Alhaj Hafez Abu Musa, the Member Secretary of the District Ulama Party, seeking eternal peace for the late president.
