


Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU) observed the 45th death anniversary of BNP founder and former President Ziaur Rahman on Saturday with a prayer gathering and a tree plantation program.
A special munajat (supplication) was held after the Zuhr prayers at the university's Central Jame Mosque, led by HSTU Proctor Professor Dr. Md. Nowsher Wan. Attendees prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul of Ziaur Rahman and other deceased members of his family, including Arafat Rahman Koko and Begum Khurshid Jahan Haque. Prayers were also offered for the good health and long life of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia and BNP leader Tarique Rahman, as well as for the nation's peace and prosperity.
Following the prayers, a native neem sapling was planted on the university campus at 2:00 PM to honor the legacy of the former president.
The memorial events were attended by HSTU Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Shafiqul Islam Sikder and Treasurer Professor Dr. M. Jahangir Kabir. Other senior administrators, including Regent Board Members Professor Dr. Hasan Fuad El Taj and Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hasan, along with several hall provosts, faculty members, and students, participated in the programs.
