


A massive mango tree collapsed onto a residential home in Lohagara upazila on Friday afternoon, causing severe property damage but leaving the residents miraculously unharmed.
The incident took place during a sudden squall in Radhagar village under Itna union.
Local residents reported that a large mango tree standing adjacent to the tin-roofed house of Iraj Fakir, locally known as Luzur, was uprooted by a powerful gust of wind. The heavy tree crashed directly onto the structure, instantly destroying a significant portion of the main house and its veranda.
According to eyewitnesses, the impact crushed valuable household electronics and furniture inside, including a refrigerator and beds, dealing a heavy financial blow to the family.
Following the crash, neighboring residents rushed to the scene to assist. Local youth quickly organized a grassroots rescue effort, using axes, hand saws, and ropes to cut the massive trunk into manageable pieces and safely clear the debris from the damaged structure.
While no injuries or casualties were reported, the sudden destruction has left the family displaced and facing severe immediate hardship.
