


The historic Pabna Gopal Chandra Institution (GCI) campus wore a festive look on Friday as hundreds of former teachers and alumni gathered for the school's grand annual reunion.
The day-long event began in the morning with the hoisting of the national flag and the singing of the national anthem. This was followed by a colorful rally that paraded through the campus and surrounding town roads.
Presided over by GCI Headmaster Wazul Haque Khan, the discussion session was attended by Pabna Sadar MP, Advocate Shamsul Rahman Shimul Biswas, an alumnus of the school, who joined as the chief guest.
The event, moderated by alumnus Mohammad Ali Imran Hossain, began with a welcome address by former student Fazlul Haque Sumon. Former Director General of the Bangladesh Water Development Board Habibur Rahman Jinnah, alongside alumni Abu Obaida Sheikh Tuhin and Anisul Haque Babu, spoke as special guests.
Speakers highlighted that the reunion serves to rekindle precious memories of student life, adding that the experiences of the alumni will inspire current students.
Organizers noted that alumni spanning 47 graduation batches traveled from across the country to join the festival. The event aimed to strengthen lifelong bonds and engage former students in the future development of the institution.
The reunion concluded in the evening with a lively cultural program performed by the participants.
