Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, MP for Pabna-5 constituency, has stressed that ensuring the safety of the country is the highest responsibility and the most meaningful work.

He made the remarks while speaking as chief guest at a Bijay Dashami programme held at Sri Sri Joykalibari Temple on Saturday afternoon.

Shimul Biswas said people must prioritise truth and humanity, and work together to build a safe and just society. “There is no greater work than making our motherland safe,” he said.

He urged citizens to focus not only on good words but also on good actions. “Good deeds should be practised and promoted, while bad practices must be avoided,” he added, calling for peaceful coexistence among all communities.

Highlighting inclusive development, the MP said he would work to ensure equal progress for all citizens regardless of religion, caste, or ethnicity. He also expressed interest in seeking support from both domestic and international sources to improve living conditions.

He added that he would continue efforts to reduce poverty, suffering, and lawlessness, and contribute to building a safer and more equitable Bangladesh.

During the event, government grants worth Tk 26.4 lakh were distributed for the renovation of 15 temples in Pabna municipality.

The event was presided over by Advocate Malay Kumar Das, President of Pabna District Puja Udjapan Front, with participation from local political, social, and media figures.
