


A 26-year-old woman was hacked to death allegedly by her husband following a domestic dispute in Bogura's Sariakandi upazila on Eid day.
Police arrested the accused husband, Rubel Mandal, 30, from the spot shortly after the crime occurred. The tragic incident took place at around 12:30 PM on Thursday in the Narchi Ganakpara neighborhood.
According to police sources, an argument broke out between the couple, Mimi Begum and Rubel, on Thursday afternoon. As the altercation escalated, Rubel grew violent, grabbed a sharp knife, and repeatedly slashed his wife. Mimi suffered catastrophic injuries and died on the spot. Police Response and Arrest
Informed by local residents who heard the commotion, a team from the Sariakandi Police Station rushed to the house. Officers recovered the victim's body and immediately took Rubel into custody.
Sariakandi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) A.F.M. Asaduzzaman confirmed the murder and subsequent arrest.
"The body of the deceased bore multiple severe injury marks caused by a sharp weapon," OC Asaduzzaman stated. "The husband has been arrested on direct murder charges. We have dispatched the body to the morgue at Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital for a mandatory post-mortem examination as legal proceedings move forward."
