Man Arrested With Two Foreign Pistols, Bullets in Gazipur

Police arrested a young man and seized two foreign pistols, six rounds of ammunition and two private cars during a special Eid night operation in Gazipur.

Acting on a tip-off a team led by Gazipur Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Aminul Islam set up a temporary checkpost on the road leading to the Porabari RAB camp near the Bhawraid intersection.

When officers signaled two suspicious private cars to stop, the occupants fired blank shots and fled the scene, abandoning the vehicles. Police managed to detain one youth, identified as Badsha, from the spot.

A subsequent search of the abandoned vehicles yielded two foreign-made pistols, six live rounds, one spent bullet casing and an iPhone.

Gazipur Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner Md. Rabiul Islam confirmed that a case has been filed against the suspect at the Gazipur Sadar Police Station and a court has sent him to jail.
