Member of Parliament for Pabna-5, Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, stated that Sri Sri Thakur Anukul Chandra sought to foster deep people-to-people connections and regional development.
Speaking as the chief guest at the 138th birth anniversary festival in Himaitpur on Tuesday (March 3), MP Biswas highlighted Thakur’s vision for the land. "Thakur did not just want a mental hospital here; he envisioned a medical college and a university. He wanted to bring the best of the world to this soil," the MP said.
Addressing the thousands of devotees, he assured them of their safety, noting that the District Commissioner and Superintendent of Police have coordinated strict security measures for the three-day event. "Your devotion brings pride to Himaitpur, a place recognized globally because of Thakur’s legacy," he added.
The discussion, chaired by Satsang Central Committee President Shri Pranshankar Das, featured special guests including Pabna Deputy Commissioner Dr. Shahed Mustafa and Superintendent of Police Md. Anwar Zahid. Earlier in the day, a "Mother Conference" was held with social worker Purnima Islam as the guest of honor.
The festival, which began on Monday at the Himaitpur Ashram, has drawn huge crowds of devotees from across the country.
