


The Upazila and Municipal units of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) held a joint discussion and prayer session at the Nimtola intersection on Saturday to observe the 45th death anniversary of party founder and former President Ziaur Rahman.
Presided over by Upazila BNP President Principal Khurshid Alam Moti and moderated by Organizing Secretary Zulfikar Ali, the meeting drew a large gathering of local leaders, activists, and representatives from various associate organizations.
Key speakers, including Upazila BNP Senior Vice President and UP Chairman Principal Nabiul Islam, former Municipal Mayor Mahmud Alam Liton, and Municipal BNP President Abul Bashar, paid tribute to Ziaur Rahman's legacy. They urged grassroots members to resolve internal differences and work cohesively to strengthen the party’s organizational foundation moving forward.
The speakers also paid homage to the activists who lost their lives in past democratic struggles, particularly those killed during the anti-government movements leading up to the recent political transition. The event concluded with special prayers for the departed soul of Ziaur Rahman and the deceased party members.
