Teachers, students, officers, and employees of the National University celebrated its 33rd founding anniversary with a colorful rally, cake-cutting ceremony, and various festive programs.
On Tuesday (October 21, 2025), a vibrant rally was organized on the National University campus to mark the occasion. The rally was led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A. S. M. Amanullah.
Pro-Vice Chancellors Professor Md. Lutfar Rahman and Professor Dr. Md. Nurul Islam, along with Treasurer Professor Dr. A. T. M. Zafarul Azam, were present at the event. All deans, registrars, department heads, teachers, officers, employees, and students of the National University participated in the rally. Later, a cake was cut to celebrate the university’s 33rd founding anniversary.
The National University was established on October 21, 1992, under a parliamentary act to expand higher education across the country—especially through affiliated colleges and institutions offering undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
This initiative has significantly expanded access to higher education in Bangladesh. Continuing its legacy of success, the National University has now completed 33 years. Currently, the university has 2,257 affiliated colleges and institutions, with a total of about 3.8 million students, accounting for nearly 70% of all higher education enrollment in the country.
