


Gazipur Krishi University (GKAU) organized a day-long training workshop on the “Implementation of the Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework (BNQF)” to ensure the quality of its education and achieve accreditation. The workshop, hosted by the university's Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), was held at IQAC Seminar Room.
The inaugural session was presided over by IQAC Director Professor Dr. Nasrin Akter Ivy, who delivered the welcome speech outlining the workshop's objectives and the future plans of the IQAC.
The Chief Guest was GKAU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. GKM Mostafizur Rahman. Special Guests included Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. M. Moynul Haque and Director of Accreditation Professor Nasir Uddin Ahammed. The Keynote Speaker for the training was Professor Dr. S. M. Kabir, a member of the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC).
In his address, the Vice-Chancellor officially inaugurated the workshop and made a firm commitment: “The implementation of the Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework (BNQF) for the development of educational standards is not just an institutional process, but a fundamental tool for ensuring the qualitative excellence of education. Through the proper implementation of this framework, we will be able to prepare our students to international standards and achieve the overall improvement of our university.”
Emphasizing that there is no alternative to achieving accreditation, he added, “The quality of education must be ensured in every department of the university, and the BNQF provides us with an effective guideline on that path. We are committed to implementing this framework.” Participants in the training included GKAU faculty Deans, members of the Program Self-Assessment Committee, and the Accreditation Committee In the second phase of the workshop, Dr. S. M. Kabir presented the keynote paper, clearly outlining the BNQF’s level-based structure, its effective implementation process, and the necessary steps for an educational institution to achieve accreditation. Dr. M. Moynul Haque provided an analytical presentation on various perspectives regarding the context of BNQF implementation at Gazipur Krishi University. This was followed by an open question-and-answer session, allowing participants to seek guidance from the experts on matters related to the BNQF and accreditation. The workshop concluded formally with the Vice-Chancellor's closing remarks.
