Three individuals sustained serious burn injuries following an explosion at a house in Feni Sadar upazila. The incident is reportedly attributed to a gas leakage within the residence.

The injured have been identified as: Md Rafiqul Islam (40) Abul Kashem (55) Jesmin Akhter (30)

All three victims were immediately transported to the Burn Unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for urgent treatment.

According to Professor Dr. Bidhan Sarkar, Chief of the Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit at DMCH are Rafiqul suffered 22 per cent body burns, Kashem sustained 20 per cent body burns and Jesmin was affected by 13 per cent body burns. Crucially, all three victims have also suffered respiratory burns, indicating smoke inhalation damage.

Dr. Sarkar confirmed, quoting family members, that the explosion was caused by gas leakage at their home in Feni.

The police are currently investigating the incident to determine the exact circumstances and cause of the explosion.
