


The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has officially nominated Md. Monirul Islam, the General Secretary of Narail District BNP, as its candidate for the Narail-2 constituency (comprising parts of Narail Sadar and Lohagara) in the upcoming national elections.
The announcement was made by the party's Secretary General, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, at a press conference held at the BNP Chairperson's office in Gulshan on Thursday (December 4) afternoon.
The Narail-2 nomination had been postponed when the candidate for Narail-1 (District BNP President Biswas Jahangir Alam) was announced on November 3. The confirmation of Monirul Islam's candidacy follows a long month of anticipation among party ranks.
Md. Monirul Islam was chosen from a pool of eight candidates who campaigned for the Narail-2 nomination. These candidates including Dr. Fariduzzaman Farhad (NPP Chairman), Shahriar Rizvi George (Former Organizing Secretary, Narail District BNP). Khandaker Ijazul Hasan Babu (Current Organizing Secretary, District BNP). Manjurul Islam Prince (Advisor, Narail District Zia Cyber Force). M Zakaria Mahmud (Former Vice-President, District BNP). Tuhin Mollah (Joint General Secretary, London BNP). HM Rashed (Former Acting President, Dhaka College Chhatra Dal).
Party leaders, workers, and supporters have expressed extreme happiness over the final confirmation of the candidate for the Narail-2 seat.
