


Truck workers protested by blocking the road for three hours in Sirajganj to protest the attack and vandalism at the truck workers' union office. The blockade, which began at 11 am on Tuesday (December 2) in the Railgate area, brought the entire area to a standstill.
The workers alleged that Sanwar Hossain Sanu, the convener of the Municipal Volunteer Party, and his associates suddenly entered the union office and vandalized it. During this time, the staff in charge were beaten up. The workers were angry because no action was taken even after the incident. At one stage, they blocked the road and protested.
The truck workers said that Sanwar Hossain Sanu, the convener of the Municipal Volunteer Party, and his people entered the office and vandalized everything and the office staff were also beaten up. We have launched the movement because we have not received justice. During the blockade, tension spread across the city's Railgate area and long traffic jams were created on both sides. The workers demanded the arrest and punishment of those responsible for the incident. Later, District BNP Senior Joint General Secretary VP Shamim Khan reached the spot and spoke to the workers and assured them of taking necessary action. After his assurance, the workers lifted the blockade. The situation gradually started to normalize.
