Pabna Press Club holds annual Doa and Iftar Mahfil

Pabna Press Club held its annual Doa and Iftar Mahfil 2026 on Saturday (February 28) in a warm and orderly atmosphere. The event took place on the rooftop of the club’s own building. Journalists, along with representatives from political, administrative, social and business sectors, attended the programme.

Member of Parliament for Pabna Sadar, Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, was present as chief guest.

Club President Akhtaruzzaman Akhtar chaired a brief discussion before iftar. In his speech, he highlighted the Press Club’s tradition, social responsibility and the ethical role of journalism.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Shahed Mostafa spoke as a special guest. The welcome address was delivered by General Secretary Zahurul Islam.

Among others present were Superintendent of Police Anwar Zahid; Managing Director of Square Toiletries Limited and Square Food and Beverage Limited Anjan Chowdhury Pintu; principals of Edward College and Bulbul College; leaders of local business associations; senior journalists; lawyers; and political leaders from different parties.

The programme was moderated by Cultural Secretary Yad Ali Mridha Pavel. Prayers were conducted by Hafez Maulana Mufti Dr. Abdullah Al Mamun Qashemi, Khatib of Chapa Bibi Waqf Estate Jame Mosque.

Leaders and members of the Press Club, along with invited guests, joined the doa and iftar.
