Trump warns Iran of unprecedented US response

US President Donald Trump has warned that the United States will respond with overwhelming force if Iran retaliates against the US and Israel.

According to AFP, Trump made the remarks on Sunday.

In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, he wrote that Iran had indicated it might carry out a large-scale retaliatory strike.

“Iran has said that they will strike back today on a very large scale, more than they have ever struck before,” Trump wrote.

He added: “Iran should not do this. Because if they strike back, we will hit them with a force like no one has ever seen before.”

The comments come amid heightened tensions in the region. There was no immediate response from Iranian officials.
