In response to the ruling regarding Awami League leader Sheikh Hasina, whose activities were prohibited by the government, enhanced security measures have been implemented in Faridpur.
Md. Kamul Hasan Molla, the Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Faridpur, stated that these additional security measures aim to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic on the Dhaka-Khulna and Dhaka-Barisal highways following the verdict. Four platoons of BGB personnel will be stationed alongside regular law enforcement officers.
In the meantime, Faridpur Police Superintendent Md. Abdul Jalil emphasized that our security protocols will be executed with the highest level of vigilance across the district. Police forces have been assigned to key locations, and in addition, RAB patrol teams will be present in every upazila and along the highways.
It is worth noting that on November 13, members of the banned Bhanga party obstructed the Dhaka-Khulna and Dhaka-Barisal highways at five different points by setting fire to tree trunks and tires, which disrupted communication with the capital Dhaka in the southern region.
