The Tahirpur Upazila branch of the Ganadhikar Parishad (GOP) Sunamganj has been approved. In the approved committee, ABM Bakhtiar has been made the president, Md. Saju Talukder the general secretary and Md. Milan Hossain the organizing secretary.
Seven people have been made vice-presidents, six have been made joint general secretaries and six have been made co-organizing secretaries in the 36-member committee. The term of the approved committee will be valid for the next one year, the notification said.
On Sunday morning, December 7, the newly formed committee president ABM Bakhtiar confirmed the matter. Earlier, on Saturday night, the committee was approved through a notification signed by Sunamganj District Ganadhikar Parishad President Maulana Ali Asgar and General Secretary Md. Abdus Samad.
The newly formed committee president, ABM Bakhtiar, said that the political party, Gana Adhikar Parishad, which emerged from the 2018 quota reform movement, is working to build a state and social system based on equality, human dignity and social justice by keeping in mind the values of democracy, justice, rights and national interests through politics based on people's rights, and this trend will continue in the future, InshaAllah. He congratulated all the members of the newly formed upazila committee and expressed the hope that the Gana Adhikar Parishad, Tahirpur Upazila branch will move forward strongly under the leadership of all of them. He said that the activities of the Gana Adhikar Parishad will spread quickly in the seven unions of the upazila and union committees will be formed.
