Only BNP can rein in corruption: Tarique Rahman BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman

Only BNP can rein in corruption, said BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. He said this while virtually joining the concluding session of the seven-day program titled 'BNP's Country Building Plan' at the Khamarbari Krishibid Institute in the capital on Sunday (December 7). The party's Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi presided over it.

Highlighting the context of the BNP coalition government in 2001-2006, the BNP Acting Chairman said, we can firmly say that only BNP can prevent corruption, because we have done it in the past and will be able to do it in the future too, InshaAllah.

He said, the BNP government had improved law and order in the country by creating various forces. Later, the dictatorship misused those forces for political gains. Therefore, only BNP can pull the reins of corruption and law and order. Tarique Rahman said, after the country became independent, after the 1990s dictatorship movement, when BNP was given the responsibility of running the country during various crises. At that time, BNP changed the situation, improved the situation. At the moment, we are expecting an election in two months. The people have ousted the dictatorship of the last 16 years through a movement, we can feel how that dictatorship has destroyed every aspect of the country in every aspect of our lives.

He said, the people are the source of all our political power. So why don't we stand before the people? Our goal is the country and the people. We will take the decision that the people give head on.

The acting chairman of BNP said, two and a half to three years ago, when the dictatorship was strangling the freedom of speech and political rights of the people with a strong hand, we proposed reforms before the people, which is known as the 31-point proposal, ignoring that bloodshot eye.

He said, after August 5, I have been saying for more than a year that the times ahead are not good. Many difficult times await ahead. Various conspiracies are being hatched in different places. The people of the country and the BNP along with the people can stop this conspiracy. The only way to stop this conspiracy is democracy, democracy and democracy. If the people's opinion can be established, it is possible to confront the conspiracy.

Tarique Rahman said, now some people say look at so-and-so, look at that-but the people saw them in 1971. Then how they killed millions of people, robbed the honor of mothers and sisters-people know everything.

He said, we will commit (promise) what we can do for the people, what is beyond our control-no one can commit. As Muslims, we believe that Allah Ta'ala is the owner of everything in the world.
