Abu Shadik Kayem, the Vice President of Dhaka University Central Parliament (DUCSU), stated that it is essential for everyone to be 'determined' with new aspirations, to dream and to manifest those dreams.
He emphasized the need to persist in the struggle for the liberation of the people in this region. We must advocate for the oppressed individuals globally, including those in Bangladesh. The entire world resembles an open prison. We must rise in support of the oppressed.
He made these remarks as the chief guest at an event titled 'An Evening with DUCSU VP' held at a community center in Shantiganj Bazar, Shantiganj Upazila on Friday evening.
He noted that a year has elapsed since the revolution, and we have lost sight of its aspirations. Why have we forgotten? Because there is an ongoing conspiracy against the revolution. The 'mechanism' that had been supported by India for the past 54 years has been dismantled through the July Revolution. They are persistently plotting against us. We must remain alert. The hopes of this revolution must not fade away. We have suffered significant losses; 2,000 of our brothers have been martyred, and many have become Ghazis. If we fail to build Bangladesh after such immense sacrifice, the next generation will hold us accountable.
The event, organized by the Islami Chhatra Shibir, Shantiganj Upazila branch, was chaired by Mehedi Hasan Tuhin, the President of the Sunamganj District Branch of Islami Chhatra Shibir. The program was facilitated by Farhan Shahriar Fahim, the Secretary of the Sunamganj District Branch of Islami Chhatra Shibir.
Among the special guests present were Ed. Yasin Khan, the nominated MP candidate of Jamaat-e-Islami for the Sunamganj-3 constituency, and Md. Asaduzzaman, DUCSU Executive member Shahinur Rahman, Sylhet Metropolitan Chhatra Shibir President Shahin Ahmed, Shantiganj Upazila Chhatra Shibir President Md. Afsar Ahmed, Secretary Muhammad Nur Nabi, and many others.
