A farmer named Bachchu Mallick (45) died after getting entangled in an electric trap used to kill rats in Nalchiti, Jhalakathi.

The incident took place on Sunday (December 7) morning in Ichhapasha village of Subidpur union of the upazila. The matter was confirmed by Nalchiti police station OC Md. Abdus Salam.

The deceased's brother Abu Bakar Mallick said that at around 10 am, my brother went to inspect the vegetable plants planted in his land. At that time, neighbors Pintu Howlader and Alauddin Jomaddar were setting traps with electricity to kill rats in the adjacent land.
