


BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has been shifted to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) from her cabin at Evercare Hospital, Dhaka. This move comes after she was admitted to the hospital on November 23 following a severe chest infection affecting both her heart and lungs.
Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, her personal doctor and a BNP standing committee member, confirmed that she is currently under intensive observation in the CCU. Her care is being managed by a medical board comprising domestic and foreign specialist doctors.
BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan provided the update on November 27, stating that he met with Dr. Hossain earlier in the day.
Khaleda Zia is battling multiple, chronic health complications, including Heart problems (e.g., mitral stenosis), Liver and kidney issues, Diabetes, Lung problems, Arthritis, Eye-related illnesses
Professor Dr. FM Siddiqui, a member of the medical board, noted that several of her health problems appeared simultaneously on November 23. It was also highlighted that she has a permanent pacemaker and has previously undergone stenting for her heart condition.
The BNP party has formally requested the nation to pray for the former Prime Minister's well-being and recovery.
