The accident occurred between 5:30 am and 6:00 am near Rayavaram when the bus, operated by Harikrishna Travels, was travelling from Nirmal in Telangana to Nellore in Andhra Pradesh. Following the collision with a gravel-laden lorry, the bus burst into flames, trapping several passengers inside.

Of the 41 passengers on board, around 25 sustained injuries, with at least five in critical condition. Critically injured victims are being shifted to advanced medical facilities, including Guntur Government General Hospital.
