Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed announced on Thursday that Bangladesh has formally requested the extradition of suspects arrested in India regarding the murder of Sharif Osman Hadi, convener of ‘Inkilab Mancha.’

Speaking after paying tribute at the Rajarbagh Police Lines Shaheed Memorial on Independence Day, the Minister confirmed that the request was processed through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the existing bilateral prisoner exchange agreement.

"Investigations into the murder of Sharif Osman Hadi are ongoing," the Home Minister stated. "After three suspects were apprehended in India, we initiated diplomatic channels and sent a formal request along with arrest warrants to our embassy to ensure their legal handover to Bangladesh."

The move marks a significant step in the high-profile investigation, as authorities seek to bring the accused to trial on domestic soil.
