The Chattogram District Stadium transformed into a sea of red and green on Thursday morning as the city celebrated Independence Day with a vibrant parade and display. Organized by the district administration, the event showcased a powerful blend of patriotism, discipline, and cultural heritage.
A smartly turned-out contingent comprising the Bangladesh Police, Ansar-VDP, Fire Service and Civil Defence, and BNCC members led the march-past. Their rhythmic coordination drew spontaneous applause from the gathered crowd.
Beyond the formal parade, the event served as a platform to inspire the youth. Scouts, Girl Guides, and students from various educational institutions performed aesthetic physical displays. These performances depicted the history of the Liberation War and Bangladeshi traditions, moving the audience emotionally.
Divisional Commissioner Dr. Zia Uddin took the salute as the chief guest. Deputy Commissioner Zahidul Islam Miah and other senior administrative officials were also in attendance.
