

Seven more people have died with symptoms of measles across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, while 1,273 new suspected and confirmed cases were reported during the same period, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The information was published in the DGHS’s regular measles report on Sunday, October 11.
According to the report, one death involving measles symptoms was recorded in Dhaka Division, one in Chattogram, three in Sylhet, one in Khulna and one in Rangpur over the past 24 hours.
DGHS data show that the total number of deaths from confirmed measles and measles-like symptoms has risen to 1,162 since March 15. Of these, 104 deaths were attributed to confirmed measles, while 1,058 involved people who died with measles symptoms.
The report also recorded 1,180 new suspected cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the cumulative number of suspected infections to 205,028.
In addition, 93 people were newly confirmed to have measles during the same period, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 22,421 since March 15.
Since that date, 182,047 patients suspected of having measles have been admitted to hospitals across the country. During the same period, 174,469 patients have recovered and returned home, according to the report.
