Chattogram Fines Illegal Parking on Cycle Track Tk 6,000

Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) has conducted a drive against illegal parking on the country’s first cycle track, located in Patenga in Chattogram city.

The drive took place on Sunday, October 11, from 10am to 1:30pm. During the operation, authorities imposed fines totalling Tk 6,000 in two cases under the Road Transport Act, 2018. One vehicle was also seized.

The drive was led by Regional Executive Officer Pranoy Chakma. Officials from CCC’s Region-5, including Regional Executive Officer Subal Chakma, zone officers, supervisors and ward supervisors, took part in the operation, along with the city corporation’s striking force and Patenga police.

The CCC’s public relations department said such drives would continue to ensure the proper use of the cycle track, prevent illegal parking and maintain a safe, unobstructed environment for cyclists in the city.
