


Pabna observed Independence and National Day today with appropriate solemnity and a range of commemorative events.
The day’s proceedings commenced at 6:01 am with a traditional 31-gun salute. Shortly after, floral wreaths were placed at the Liberation War Memorial, ‘Durjoy Pabna,’ to honor the martyrs of 1971.
Floral tributes were offered by the Deputy Commissioner, District Judicial Magistrate, and the Superintendent of Police. Representatives from the District Council, Civil Surgeon’s office, RAB-12, Bangladesh Ansar & VDP, and the Pabna Municipality also paid their respects.
Other participating departments included the Fire Service and Civil Defence, District Information Office, BRTA, Divisional Forest Office, Public Works Department, and the District Education Office. Members of the Pabna Press Club and various local socio-cultural and political organizations joined the tribute.
Educational institutions across the district also organized special programs to mark the significance of the day.
