The Fulbari Upazila administration honored local freedom fighters and their families on Thursday (March 26) to mark Independence Day.

The reception was held at the Fulbari Government College ground at noon. Presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ahmed Hasan, the event featured speeches from Assistant Commissioner (Land) Samiul Islam, Upazila Agriculture Officer Saif Abdullah Mostafin, Fulbari Police Station OC Abdul Latif Shah, and Upazila Engineer Shafiqul Islam.

The veterans were welcomed with floral tributes and gifts. During the ceremony, speakers emphasized that the nation’s independence was earned through the immense sacrifices of these heroes. They stressed that upholding the dignity of freedom fighters is a collective moral duty.

The event was attended by local political leaders, including Abdul Majid Mondal, Abul Bashar, and Zulfikar Ali, alongside representatives from various professional organizations.
