The day’s programs began at dawn on Thursday (March 26) with ceremonial gun salutes. Selimuzzaman Selim, Member of Parliament for Gopalganj-1, and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mahmud Arif Kabir led the tributes by placing wreaths at the Shaheed Minar on the upazila premises.
Following the official ceremony, various government departments, the Muktijoddha Sangsad Command Council, Muksudpur Police Station, and the Upazila Health Complex offered floral tributes. Educational institutions, including Government Muksudpur College, and several social organizations also joined the remembrance.
Political units, including the Muksudpur Upazila BNP, placed wreaths separately to honor the fallen heroes.
The upazila administration organized various events to mark the occasion, including parades, art competitions for children, and discussion sessions. Speakers at these events emphasized the importance of upholding the spirit of the Liberation War and sharing the nation’s history with the younger generation.
