The lively, smiling presence that once brightened social media has fallen silent forever. Content creator, actress, and screenwriter Kareena Kaiser was laid to rest on Monday morning in her grandmother's garden courtyard at Abdullahpur village in Gazaria upazila, Munshiganj.
To honor the family's wishes for privacy during their time of grief, the final rites and burial were conducted strictly within a private family atmosphere. The general public and media personnel were requested to stay back, and mobile phones or cameras were prohibited at the burial site.
Kareena’s final Janaza (funeral prayer) took place around 7:00 AM on Monday in Abdullahpur village, located behind the Bhaberchar bus stand. Following the prayers, she was buried in the courtyard of her grandmother Zohra Khanam's garden house.
Kareena Kaiser was the daughter of former national football team star Kaiser Hamid and Lopa Kaiser, and the granddaughter of the legendary chess grandmaster Rani Hamid.
Speaking to reporters after the burial, Kareena’s younger brother, Sadat Hamid, requested privacy. "Three Janazas were held in Dhaka where the media was present. However, our family decided to keep the burial private to avoid publicity and overwhelming crowds. We hope everyone understands our mental state during this difficult time," he said.
Kareena had been battling critical liver-related complications. After initially being placed on life support at a private hospital in Dhaka, she was flown to Chennai, India, via an air ambulance for advanced medical care. She passed away during treatment there on May 15.
Her body arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 4:50 PM on Sunday, received by her father Kaiser Hamid. Following her arrival, consecutive Janazas were held at the Banani DOHS ground and Banani Darbar Sharif. At 10:00 PM on Sunday, her body was taken to the Central Shaheed Minar, where people from all walks of life gathered to pay their final respects. Her body reached Munshiganj after Fajr prayers on Monday morning.
While widely recognized as a popular digital content creator, Kareena was also making significant strides as an actress and screenwriter. Her vibrant presentation and relatable content earned her a massive following among youth. Her notable works include contributions to popular projects like Internship and 36-24-36.
