National High School Programming Contest Held at PSTU

The National High School Programming Contest, Quiz Competition, Cyber Security Seminar, and Cyber Security Olympiad were held at Patuakhali Science and Technology University through a daylong program jointly organized by the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), the ICT Division, and the university authorities.

The event took place on Saturday at the university’s regional venue, where more than 100 students from schools and colleges in Barishal, Patuakhali, and Barguna participated.

Professor Md. Atikur Rahman, Chairman of the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, served as the campus convener. Teachers from the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering and members of the CSE Club assisted in organizing the program.

The programming contest began at 9:30 AM in the research laboratories of the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering. The quiz competition started at 10:00 AM, followed by a cyber security seminar and cyber security olympiad.

A prize-giving ceremony was held at the end of the program. The session was moderated by CSE Club President Bayezid Ahmed. Professor Md. Golam Muradul Bashir, Chairman of the CCE Department, attended as the chief guest, while Professor Md. Atikur Rahman presided over the event.

Special guests included Senior Programmer Md. Masudur Rahman and Patuakhali District ICT Officer Md. Sabuj Talukdar. ICT officers from different upazilas also attended the program.

In his closing remarks, Professor Md. Atikur Rahman said technology-driven creativity could help students reach new heights and urged them to become more aware of cyber security issues.

Crests, certificates, and T-shirts were distributed among the winners. Students selected at the regional level will participate in the national-level competition.

The program concluded at 2:00 PM with various technology-based activities.
