Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a formal military escort and a guard of honor upon arriving in the United Arab Emirates for a bilateral meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Following a warm reception, the two leaders held extensive talks focusing on regional security, maritime safety, and bilateral cooperation. Modi emphasized that the India-UAE comprehensive strategic partnership has become increasingly crucial given the current volatile global and regional context.

Expressing solidarity with the host nation, Modi strongly condemned recent regional attacks against the UAE, praising the country's restraint and leadership. He affirmed that India stands firmly alongside the UAE in all circumstances. Addressing broader regional conflicts in the Middle East, the Indian Prime Minister advocated for dialogue and diplomacy as the only effective avenues for resolution. He further stressed the vital necessity of keeping the strategic Strait of Hormuz safe, free, and open for unhindered global navigation.

According to reporting from India's state news agency, ANI, the diplomatic visit yielded several major bilateral agreements. These include frameworks for strategic defense industrial cooperation, the expansion of India’s strategic petroleum reserves, and long-term liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supply security.

Concluding his remarks, Modi expressed his gratitude to the UAE government and the royal family for ensuring the safety and welfare of the large Indian diaspora living in the Emirates, warmly referring to the Gulf nation as his "second home."
