


Bayern Munich forward Harry Kane has been named Germany's Player of the Year 2026 while manager Vincent Kompany won the coach's accolade after another dominant season for the Bavarian club.
Kane scored 61 goals across all competitions last season with helping Bayern defend their Bundesliga title and win the German Cup where he netted a hat trick in the final. He also contributed to Bayern's latest German Supercup win a 2-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund on Saturday though he did not score in that match.
The England forward received 272 votes with ahead of teammate Michael Olise with 203 in the annual poll conducted by the Association of German Sports Journalists (VDS) and organized by Kicker magazine among its 659 members.
Kicker reported that Deniz Undav received 61 votes and followed by Bayern's Joshua Kimmich with 21 and Hoffenheim goalkeeper Oliver Baumann with 14. Three votes were declared invalid.
Kompany secured nearly half of all votes for the coach's award with surpassing Freiburg's Julian Schuster the last year's winner.
Florian Wirtz had won the player's award the previous year.
The Player of the Year award has been presented since 1960 while the coach's honor began in 2002. Franz Beckenbauer holds the record with four player awards while Jürgen Klopp and Felix Magath have each won the coach's award three times.
