RAB Arrests 8 in Chattogram Shakib Murder Case

RAB has arrested eight people including three named accused within 48 hours of the murder of Mohammad Shakib (24) in Chandgaon, Chattogram.

Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-7, ARM Mozaffar Hossain confirmed the arrests on Sunday noting that those detained include accused numbers 1, 2 and 3 named in the case report.

According to RAB the surveillance on the suspects began following the murder, based on intelligence information. The eight were later arrested during a targeted operation.

Shakib was seriously injured after being stabbed by miscreants in the Chandgaon area on Wednesday evening. He was rushed to Chattogram Medical College (CMC) Hospital around 7:15 pm where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Shakib was the son of Saleh Ahmed Chowdhury and a resident of the CMB Atgachtala area under Chandgaon police station.
