Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-7) have arrested six suspected drug dealers and seized 100,000 Yaba pills during a targeted anti-narcotics drive in Chittagong’s Patiya upazila.
During the operation law enforcers also confiscated five motorcycles used by the syndicate to transport the illicit drugs.
RAB-7 Assistant Director (Media) ARM Mozaffar Hossain confirmed the arrests in a briefing on Thursday August 6. According to the official statement, the arrested individuals operate as an organized biker gang. They explicitly use motorcycles to smuggle and distribute Yaba across the region a tactic often used to evade standard highway checkpoints.
This bust marks a significant disruption to local narcotic supply chains, highlighting authorities' ongoing efforts to curb organized drug smuggling in the Chittagong district. The suspects will face legal proceedings under the Narcotics Control Act.
