


Five people have died from dengue across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, while 839 new patients have been admitted to hospitals with the disease.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the information in a dengue-related press release issued on Sunday (August 23).
Of the newly hospitalized patients:
According to the DGHS, 28,929 people have been infected with dengue so far this year. Of them, 61.9% are male and 38.1% are female.
A total of 26,897 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals this year.
With the latest five deaths, the total number of dengue deaths in Bangladesh this year has risen to 82.
