


The internal procurement of Boro paddy, rice and wheat has been inaugurated in Porsha upazila of Naogaon.
The program was inaugurated at 11:00 am on Monday at the Nitpur Food Warehouse under the Upazila Food Controller Office. Naogaon-1 Constituency MP Md. Mostafizur Rahman formally inaugurated the event.
Upazila Agriculture Officer Mamunur Rashid attended as a special guest, while Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rakibul Islam presided over the ceremony.
Among others present were Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ziaur Rahman, Food Controller Aminul Kabir, OCLSD of Nitpur Food Warehouse Riazul Haque, OCLSD of Saraigachi Food Warehouse Zakir Hossain Bhuiyan, BNP Acting President Mosharraf Hossain Sufi Shah, General Secretary Sadequl Islam, Joint General Secretary Shakil Javed, Publicity Secretary Rafiqul Islam Gama, and former BNP leaders Taufiqur Rahman Shah Chowdhury and Azahar Ali, along with other officials and employees.
Officials said that this season, a total of 1,166 metric tons of rice will be purchased at Tk 49 per kg, 967 metric tons of Boro paddy at Tk 36 per kg, and 809 metric tons of wheat at Tk 36 per kg. Procurement will be carried out through the Nitpur and Saraigachi food warehouses.
On the same day, MP Md. Mostafizur Rahman also attended a workshop on the core road network and road priority determination organized by the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), Porsha. The session was chaired by UNO Rakibul Islam. LGED Engineer ANM Sultanul Imam, Assistant Engineer Bidyut Hossain, and other officials participated.
