


Bangladesh Bank has taken a decision to introduce a new mandatory reporting requirement within its existing Online Import Monitoring System (OIMS) to further ease the import trade process accordingly today issued a circular, announcing the introduction of a new reporting feature, a tab titled ‘Commercial Invoice,’ within the OIMS.
This measure, decided upon for the further facilitation of the import trade process, will require Authorized Dealers to report detailed information. The new requirement will become effective from November 1, 2025 and this directive is issued under the authority granted by Section 20 (3) of the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, 1947, and Section 45 (1) (Gha) of the Bank Company Act, 1991.
ADs are responsible for reporting import transaction and information into the OIMS of Bangladesh Bank. With the introduction of the new tab, ADs will be required to report information specifically drawn from the commercial invoice and other relevant documents.
