


A fire erupted at the nuclear power project under construction in Rooppur, Ishwardi, Pabna. The blaze ignited in a stack of wood located at the rear of the project around 12:30 pm on Thursday, November 6.
Upon receiving the alert, five units from the Rooppur Green City Fire Service promptly arrived at the scene and managed to control the fire within approximately 40 minutes. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties or significant damage resulting from the fire.
Abul Hashem, the Senior Station Master of the Rooppur Green City Fire Service, confirmed this information.
He stated that the fire unexpectedly broke out in a substantial pile of wood near the Padma River within the project area. When the workers on site quickly notified the Fire Service, multiple units responded and effectively contained the fire.
He also mentioned that the source of the fire could not be immediately identified. An investigation is currently underway to ascertain the cause of the fire. The incident caused considerable alarm in the project area.
