


A mobile court in Narail’s Lohagara upazila has sentenced two individuals to prison and fined them for selling and consuming Yaba tablets.
The anti-drug drive was conducted in the Gopinathpur Beparipara area of Lohagara Municipality on Wednesday, July 15. The operation was led by Lohagara Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Shammi Kaiser.
According to court records, Md. Tariqul Goldar, 23, of Gopinathpur Beparipara, was sentenced to two months in prison and fined Tk 100 for selling the contraband pills. In the same drive, Md. Rejuan Sheikh, 30, from nearby Pachuria village, received a one-month prison sentence and a Tk 100 fine for consuming the drug.
UNO Shammi Kaiser officially confirmed the convictions to the press, highlighting the local administration's ongoing efforts to curb regional drug offenses.
