


World Population Day was observed in Lohagara, Narail, under the theme, "Implementing the hopes and aspirations of the youth, building a beautiful future with today's conviction." The day was marked by a discussion meeting and an award ceremony recognizing outstanding local health and family planning workers.
The event took place on July 12 at the Upazila Family Planning Department conference room. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shammi Kaiser addressed the gathering as the chief guest. Upazila Family Planning Officer Tanvir Ahmed Plabon chaired the session, which was moderated by Family Planning Inspector Mashiur Rahman.
Special guests included Upazila Health Officer Dr. Abul Hasanat Pintu, Acting Headmaster of Lakshipasha Girls' School Mollah AKM Kamrul Hasan, Lohagara Municipality BNP Organizing Secretary S.A. Saifullah Mamun, Lohagara Press Club Convener Selim Jahangir, and Human Trafficking Prevention Organization Chairman Syed Khairul Alam.
Following the discussion, officials honored the top-performing field workers and organizations under the Lohagara Family Planning Department for their contributions to public health.
The recognized field workers were Joypur Union Family Welfare Assistant Moss. Chiaron Nesa, Naldi Union Health and Family Welfare Center Inspector Iti Nag, Joypur Union’s Md. Jewel Bhuiyan, and Deputy Assistant Community Medical Officer Afroza Khanam.
Additionally, honorary mementos were presented to three outstanding local institutions: Kotakol Union Health and Family Welfare Center, Naldi Union Health and Family Welfare Center, and Lakshipasha Union Parishad.
