


Locals in Chhatak Upazila organized a farewell reception on Wednesday to honor Piara Begum, the retiring headmistress of Madhabpur Government Primary School, celebrating her lifelong dedication to regional education.
Held at the school premises at 3:00 PM, the event recognized her significant contributions to expanding local educational access, ensuring quality learning, and driving the school's structural and academic development.
Chhatak Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Mohi Uddin attended as the chief guest. He was joined by Upazila Primary Education Officer Shahjahan Ahmed, alongside several prominent local political figures, health officials including Upazila Health Officer Dr. M. R. Zahid Mia, and community leaders.
Organizers praised Begum for instilling strong moral values in her students throughout her long career. The ceremony, presided over by Joynal Abedin and moderated by Kamruzzaman and Abdul Hai Layek, concluded with the presentation of a commemorative plaque. Special prayers were also offered, wishing the outgoing headmistress good health and a peaceful retirement.
Hundreds of attendees, including teachers, students, parents, and public representatives, gathered to express their profound gratitude for her years of dedicated service to the Madhabpur community.
