Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected across major parts of Bangladesh over the next 24 hours. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) announced in its morning bulletin today.
According to the Met office, precipitation accompanied by temporary gusty winds is highly likely to occur at many places throughout the Rangpur, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions. Meanwhile, a few areas within the Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions will also experience similar weather conditions. The BMD further cautioned that moderately heavy to heavy rainfall could take place at isolated locations across the country during this period.
Due to the persistent cloud cover and precipitation, both day and night temperatures are expected to drop slightly nationwide offering mild relief from recent heat.
Weather logs from the previous day show that the country's highest temperature reached 35.8°C in Ishurdi under the Rajshahi division. In contrast, the lowest temperature recorded early this morning was 23.3°C in Sylhet. Over the 24 hours leading up to 6:00 AM today, Sreemangal registered the country's highest rainfall volume at 46 millimeters.
For residents in the capital, the sun will set at 6:49 PM today and will rise at 5:21 AM tomorrow. Citizens are advised to carry umbrellas and expect minor disruptions in daily commutes due to temporary waterlogging or gusty winds.
