Two Businessmen Fined in Paikgachha Mobile Court Drive

Two businessmen were fined in a mobile court drive in Paikgachha, Khulna, for selling animal feed and medicines without valid licenses.

The drive was conducted on Sunday afternoon by Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Md. Fazle Rabbi.

During the operation, Rahman Gazi of the Notun Bazar area under Gadaipur Union and Bishwajit Kumar Das of Kapilmuni Union were fined Tk 2,000 each under Section 4 of the Fish Food and Animal Feed Act, 2010. A total of Tk 4,000 was collected in fines.

According to the upazila administration, the action was taken over various irregularities related to the sale of animal feed and related medicines without proper authorization. Officials also inspected and verified documents at the businesses during the drive.

Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Partha Pratim Roy and members of the local police station assisted in the operation.

Upazila Executive Officer Wasiuzzaman Chowdhury said similar mobile court drives will continue to monitor markets and prevent irregularities in the public interest.
