BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee said, Islam has taught us to work for the welfare of humanity. It has taught us to establish justice and maintain peace. It is only in the light of Islam that it is possible for Imams and Khatibs to show positive directions in the society. Imams and Khatibs are the wise, intelligent and leaders of the society. The spread of light in the society depends most on your leadership. Which becomes difficult for a politician.

He said these things while speaking as a special guest at the Imam-Khatib Conference at the Lakshmipur District Model Mosque Auditorium on Wednesday (October 29) afternoon. This was organized under the banner of Sane Sahaba National Khatib Foundation Lakshmipur District Branch.

Shahid Uddin Chowdhury said, "Imara is that wise and knowledgeable person who, when society is immersed in darkness, brings light out of darkness. You are a highly respected person in this society. Just as you have been hindered, hurt, and unable to spread light in the past few years, we political parties were also deprived of that. Because we were deprived, we all fought together in the movement. We all came into a united role through the latest July movement.

He also said, "We are political parties, each one following a different ideology. But for the country's democracy, for the country, for the society, at the end of the day, we have to keep that unity in a strong unity. Because our aim is one, to build a beautiful Bangladesh. Awareness is raised and created through Friday sermons, and society is benefiting through this awareness. If you do not always raise the issues of education, sanitation, health, and anti-terrorism and drug abuse, then this society will go back to the darkness it was in." But no, this is our unity, this is our respect, this is where we want to establish strong unity. We, the common people of this country, have fought and struggled to live together. We have to continue this fight and struggle.

He further said, now the era has changed, the time has changed. This time is very challenging for us. In order to overcome this and reach the target, our own ethics and morality should not deteriorate. We should be able to establish a drug-free society. Drugs have become a big challenge for us. Wherever we go, it seems that drugs are working with an agency in the whole country. If we cannot free this society from this, then our good aspects will be lost day by day. No matter how much we reform the state and politics, how much we talk about civic development, if there is no respect, if we cannot establish a terror-free, drug-free social system, then we will go backward.

The event was chaired by the Foundation's Laxmipur District Committee President Maulana Mujahidul Haque, and the chief guest was Shaykhul Hadith Allama Harun Al Madani, former principal of Tumchar Islamia Kamil Madrasa, and the main discussant was Mufti Shamim Majumdar, chairman of Shane Sahaba National Khatib Foundation.

The event was moderated by Foundation member Maulana Imran Bin Borhan, and the special guests were Mufti Sharif Ullah Tarekhi, Secretary General of Shane Sahaba National Khatib Foundation, District Jamaat Secretary AR Hafiz Ulya, and District Secretary of Islami Andolan Bangladesh Zahir Uddin.
