The District Detective Branch (DB) police arrested a father and son duo with 200 Yaba tablets during a raid in Ishwardi, Pabna, on Saturday night.

The operation took place around 8:15 PM in the Sada Gopalpur Farajipara area of Ishwardi Municipality. The arrestees are Md. Bhuttu, 45, and his son Noor Islam Shimul, 20.

Acting on a tip-off, a DB team led by OC Md. Rashidul Islam intercepted the pair in front of a local furniture shop. Upon searching Bhuttu, police recovered 200 Yaba tablets. Three mobile phones and cash suspected to be drug-sale proceeds were also seized.

According to OC Rashidul Islam, the duo had long been sourcing Yaba from various regions to distribute across Pabna district. A case has been filed against them at Ishwardi Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act. They were produced before the court and subsequently sent to jail.
